Tehran delivers New Warning to Trump. By Carl Montel.

Tensions between the United States and Iran are escalating once again, as Tehran issues a stern warning to Washington amid renewed concerns over Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

On Tuesday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian took to social media to deliver a firm message: any aggressive action against Iran would be met with a “harsh and discouraging” response. Pezeshkian warned specifically against what he called “cruel aggression,” signaling that Tehran is prepared to retaliate decisively if provoked.

This warning comes in the wake of recent comments by U.S. President Donald Trump, who suggested that the United States might launch military strikes if Iran attempts to rebuild its nuclear program. Speaking alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during their meeting at Mar-a-Lago in Florida, President Trump stated, “Now I hear that Iran is trying to build up again. And if they are, we’re going to have to knock them down. We’ll knock them down. We’ll knock the hell out of them. But hopefully that’s not happening.”

The discussion between Trump and Netanyahu comes just six months after a 12-day air campaign targeting Iranian-backed sites in the region, which left nearly 1,100 Iranians and 28 Israelis dead. The ongoing fears about Iran’s nuclear activities continue to fuel instability in the Middle East.

While Tehran insists it is not enriching uranium, U.S. intelligence suggests Iran’s organized nuclear weapons program was dismantled over two decades ago. Despite this, the region remains uneasy, especially as Iran faces internal unrest, with recent protests in Tehran and elsewhere, alongside economic difficulties, including a sharp currency devaluation that recently led to the resignation of the Central Bank’s governor.

U.S. State Department spokesperson Thomas Pigott reiterated America’s firm stance against Iran’s military ambitions, emphasizing new sanctions aimed at curbing Tehran’s ballistic missile program and cutting off resources to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which the U.S. blames for destabilizing activities across the region.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf responded Tuesday, declaring that Iran does not seek permission from any country to defend itself. “The Iranian people’s response to any widespread adventurism and evil is unapologetic and unexpected,” he said.

As both nations maintain a firm posture, the ongoing back-and-forth is expected to continue. While Iran appears to view itself as already engaged in a form of conflict with the U.S., President Trump has yet to acknowledge this in kind.
