Tensions between Iran and the United States have escalated to a critical level tonight, as U.S. intelligence sources warn that Tehran is preparing to launch strikes against American military bases throughout the Middle East—if the United States officially joins Israel’s widening war against Iran.
According to senior officials who spoke with The New York Times, Iran is actively plotting potential attacks on U.S. forces stationed across the region—including in the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. Over 40,000 American troops in the Middle East have now been placed on high alert.
The developments follow the launch of Operation Rising Lion, Israel’s most expansive air assault on Iran to date. American defense officials warn that should Washington back Israeli strikes on critical Iranian sites—specifically the underground Fordow nuclear facility—Iran’s regional proxies are expected to retaliate.
Among those groups, Yemen’s Houthi militants would likely resume attacks on commercial shipping in the Red Sea, while pro-Iranian forces in Iraq and Syria could attempt direct strikes on U.S. bases.
Sources say Israel cannot deal a decisive blow to Iran’s nuclear infrastructure without direct American military support—particularly the deployment of B-2 stealth bombers equipped with Massive Ordnance Penetrators, the only bombs capable of destroying deeply buried sites like Fordow.
President Donald Trump, meanwhile, is escalating his rhetoric. In a series of Truth Social posts Tuesday, the president stated, quote, “We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding… He is an easy target, but we are not going to take him out—at least not for now.”
He followed that statement minutes later with a bold declaration: “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!”
Speaking with reporters, President Trump made it clear: “I’m not interested in negotiations with Iran. I want a real end to Tehran’s nuclear program.” Sources close to the White House tell The Jerusalem Post that if Iran refuses to dismantle its nuclear capabilities, a full-scale U.S. strike may be imminent.
In Geneva today, Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Ali Bahreini, issued a stark warning: if the United States enters the conflict directly, Iran will strike back hard. Bahreini called the U.S. “complicit in Israeli aggression” and vowed a forceful response to any American involvement.
As of this evening, exchanges between Israel and Iran continue. Iranian media reports that thousands of civilians have begun fleeing major cities, including Tehran, as both countries trade new missile salvos. In the early hours of Wednesday, Israel reported two waves of Iranian missile attacks, with explosions rocking Tel Aviv.
