Tensions in the Middle East have escalated once again—and U.S. political rhetoric is intensifying alongside it. Former President Donald Trump is doubling down on calls for sweeping regime change in Iran, even as Tehran fires another wave of missiles at Israeli territory.
In a statement delivered Sunday night, Trump claimed that U.S. military strikes have inflicted “monumental damage” on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, declaring the word “obliteration” to be—quote—“an accurate term” to describe the aftermath of the operation.
According to Trump, the attacks successfully struck deeply buried nuclear facilities, including fortified underground complexes. He boasted about the precision of the mission, pointing to satellite visuals that show a heavily fortified structure embedded into rock, shielded from fire, but—according to him—now thoroughly devastated. “Bullseye,” he wrote.
These remarks come as Iran continues its retaliation, launching additional missiles at Israeli targets amid already heightened hostilities in the region. The Israeli Home Front Command has extended emergency restrictions, limiting activity to essential services only until at least Monday evening.
Iranian leadership, for its part, has issued a dire warning. Officials in Tehran threatened potential terror attacks on U.S. soil if further strikes are carried out against its nuclear facilities—raising fears of a broader conflict that could reach far beyond the Middle East.
Trump, however, appears unfazed. In his latest remarks, he urged a complete political transformation in Iran, invoking his signature slogan in a strikingly different context. “It’s time to Make Iran Great Again,” he declared, calling on the Iranian people to reject what he called a repressive regime.
As diplomatic tensions harden into military action, questions now loom over how far the current standoff will go—and what the broader consequences may be for global security.
We will continue to monitor this rapidly developing situation and bring you updates as they come in.
