Israel eliminates IRGC official responsible for financing and equipping Hamas’s October 7 assault from Iran by Carl Montel.

Israel is claiming a significant blow to Iran’s proxy terror operations, announcing the targeted killing of one of the most senior Iranian military officials behind the deadly October 7 attacks carried out by Hamas. The man at the center of this operation—Mohammad Saeed Izadi—was reportedly a key architect in what Israeli leaders describe as a two-stage campaign to dismantle the Jewish state.

ISRAEL ELIMINATES IRAN-HAMAS COORDINATOR IN STRIKE ON IRANIAN SOIL

The Israeli military confirmed today that Mohammad Saeed Izadi, commander of the Palestine Corps within Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force, was killed in a precision airstrike in the city of Qom, south of Tehran. Israeli Air Force jets carried out the mission following weeks of coordinated intelligence work.

Izadi played a central role in orchestrating the October 7 massacre and, according to Israeli defense sources, was one of the very few individuals who had foreknowledge of the attack. Defense Minister Israel Katz described the operation as “a major achievement for Israeli intelligence and justice for the murdered and the hostages.”

Katz added: “Israel’s long arm will reach all its enemies. Izadi funded and armed Hamas in the lead-up to October 7. He will no longer be able to do so.”

IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir echoed the sentiment, calling Izadi “the leader of the Iran-Hamas axis” and a close confidant of slain Hamas commanders Yahya Sinwar and Mohammed Deif. “He has the blood of thousands of Israelis on his hands,” Zamir said, adding that his death “makes the entire Middle East safer.”

IRAN’S MULTI-FRONT PLAN AGAINST ISRAEL EXPOSED

According to Israel Defense Forces, Izadi was spearheading a two-phase strategy for Israel’s destruction. Phase one involved a coordinated wave of missile and drone attacks from Iran and its regional proxies. Phase two, Israel claims, called for mass infiltration by tens of thousands of terrorists from Lebanon, Gaza, Syria, and the West Bank.

As the IDF continues to uncover and release intelligence gathered from operations in Gaza, new documents retrieved from Hamas’s underground command center in Khan Yunis have revealed direct communications between Izadi and Mohammed Sinwar—who succeeded his brother Yahya as Hamas’s military leader before also being killed in an Israeli strike this May.

These documents outlined an Iranian effort to deliver millions of dollars’ worth of weapons to Gaza through two separate operations, labeled Tufan 1 and Tufan 2. According to Israeli military officials, the value of these arms transfers exceeded $46 million.

The IDF says it successfully thwarted both shipments through close coordination between its Southern Command and intelligence units. “For years, Izadi facilitated the flow of arms and cash to Hamas, and he persisted in recent months,” said an official statement. “His removal is a critical blow to Iran’s terror-financing network.”

NUCLEAR SCIENTIST KILLED, HIGH-RANKING OFFICERS DEAD IN BROADER STRIKE

In addition to Izadi, Israel’s recent wave of strikes inside Iran reportedly killed nuclear scientist Isar Tabatabai-Qamsheh and his wife. This, according to Iran’s Mehr News Agency.

Iranian state media also confirmed the deaths of 15 military personnel from Iran’s Air Defense and IRGC, including two brigadier generals and multiple senior officers. The broader scope of the strikes suggests Israel is intensifying efforts to degrade both Iran’s nuclear ambitions and its regional command structure.

REGIONAL IMPLICATIONS MOUNT

As Israel’s operations expand beyond its borders, questions now loom over how Iran will respond—and whether other international actors, including the United States, will escalate involvement. President Trump has not yet made an official statement regarding this strike, but his recent actions, including National Security Council meetings and strategic military movements, have left the world watching closely.

Tonight’s events mark a major escalation in the shadow war between Israel and Iran—one that is rapidly becoming less covert. With one of Iran’s top terror coordinators eliminated and its military leadership taking heavy losses, the Middle East stands on a knife’s edge.
