The
tech titan Elon Musk has ignited a political firestorm with a bold and controversial allegation aimed directly at former President Donald Trump.
In a stunning social media post on Thursday, Musk claimed that Donald Trump’s name appears in the sealed Jeffrey Epstein files suggesting this as the real reason behind delays in the full public release of those records. Posting on X, formerly known as Twitter, Musk wrote: “@RealDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” He followed up with another cryptic message: “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”
The explosive comments came after a public online spat between Musk and Trump, reportedly sparked by disagreements over recent legislation particularly what Musk called a “One Big Beautiful Bill” that he says excluded key provisions he supported. The White House, responding swiftly, downplayed the drama. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt labeled Musk’s remarks “an unfortunate episode” and said the President remains focused on passing a historic spending and tax reform bill.
A White House source familiar with the Epstein matter pushed back strongly, noting that Trump had previously removed Epstein from his Palm Beach golf club and that no new information had emerged in Musk’s posts. The source also pointed to Musk’s own warm praise for Trump in the past, saying, “If Elon truly believed Trump was deeply involved, why did he spend months calling him a close friend?”
Former President Trump responded via Truth Social, expressing disappointment in Musk’s reversal, but focusing much of his attention on the bill now before Congress. Trump described it as a landmark $1.6 trillion cut in spending and the largest tax cut in American history.
“I didn’t create this mess — I’m here to fix it. This bill puts us on the path to greatness,” he declared.
Trump also claimed he removed Musk from his former role leading the Department of Government Efficiency or DOGE due to performance concerns and a controversial electric vehicle mandate. “Elon went crazy after I took away his EV mandate,” Trump wrote, “He knew for months I would do it.”
Musk’s accusation comes just months after limited Epstein-related files were made public. Despite public demand and legal pressure, many key documents — including a client list — remain unreleased. Former Attorney General Pam Bondi has criticized the FBI for delays and claimed the complete dossier is still under review, although partial records such as flight logs, contact lists, and a redacted masseuse list have already surfaced.
While no wrongdoing has been proven against Trump in connection to Epstein, the allegations continue to cast long shadows. High-profile figures including Prince Andrew and the late Jean-Luc Brunel have faced scrutiny and legal consequences related to Epstein’s decades-long abuse network.
As this high-stakes public feud escalates, the political and legal implications could ripple far beyond social media. SNEWS TV will continue tracking this developing story closely.
