2025 has been a year of highs, lows, and surprises for WWE superstar Ron Killings, better known to fans as R-Truth. In May, Killings found himself without a new WWE contract—a move that shocked fans, especially after his high-profile match against John Cena just the week prior at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Despite the setback, a wave of support from fans and colleagues helped propel his surprise return at Money in the Bank, this time under his real name, Ron Killings. Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Killings described the negotiation period as “hard and confusing”.
He reflected on the personal sacrifices he’s made over his career: “You don’t know what that moment felt like… I’ve missed birthdays, anniversaries, so much because of the dedication I have to this business.”
R-Truth explained that while he had been ready to step away from WWE, the fans weren’t ready to let him go. “When my time came to an end, I was ready for it. But the universe wasn’t… The only thing we can do is adapt and evolve. And that’s what Truth’s been doing for a while.”
Killings noted that contract negotiations require seizing the moment, saying, “When you get that leverage, you have to jump on it… The world crashed out for R-Truth.”
Following his return, R-Truth appeared poised for a main-event run, engaging briefly in a program with Aleister Black. However, he has since been absent from WWE programming, leaving fans wondering what’s next for the veteran performer.
We will continue to follow updates on R-Truth’s WWE status and bring you the latest from the world of professional wrestling.
