UN Secretary-General decries Gaza as a ‘scene of horror’ in the ongoing Middle East crisis. By Carl Montel.

Today, sharp condemnation from the United Nations over the intensifying humanitarian crisis in Gaza. UN Secretary-General António Guterres has delivered one of his strongest statements yet, calling the situation in Gaza a “horror show” and warning the UN Security Council that the ongoing destruction and loss of life is “without parallel in recent times.”

The remarks come as Israel ramps up its ground operations in Deir al-Balah, a central city in the Gaza Strip. The escalation is triggering fresh warnings from international aid organizations, who say their humanitarian efforts are now in jeopardy.

A warehouse operated by the World Health Organization was reportedly struck in Deir al-Balah, wiping out critical medical supplies, according to WHO spokesperson Tarik Jasarevic. He warned that the ability to deliver life-saving assistance is being severely hampered — with even aid workers themselves now among the displaced.

Jasarevic emphasized, “We’re watching people die of hunger and illness while our supplies sit minutes away, blocked from entry without permits.” He added that international medical teams, eager to help, are also being turned away. In recent months alone, 58 healthcare professionals, including surgeons and specialists, were denied visas to work in Gaza.

Meanwhile, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus confirmed that a staff housing facility and the same WHO warehouse were hit three separate times, further complicating relief efforts.

Diplomatic voices are also growing louder. France’s Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot is calling on Israel to grant foreign journalists access to Gaza to ensure transparency. And Germany has publicly endorsed a statement in favor of a ceasefire.

With civilians caught in the crossfire and international aid blocked or under fire, the global community is intensifying its calls for de-escalation and access. The world watches as a humanitarian disaster unfolds, one that the UN warns may define a generation.

We will continue tracking developments out of Gaza and bring you the latest here on SNEWS TV.
