Developments in the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, now entering its fourth consecutive day of deadly cross-border strikes.
Missile sirens blared across Tel Aviv and Jerusalem early Monday morning as Iran launched yet another wave of missile attacks targeting major Israeli cities. The Israeli Defense Forces confirmed that dozens of projectiles were fired, prompting the activation of emergency air defense systems and urgent civilian alerts.
According to Israeli officials, this round of Iranian strikes has left three people dead—two women and one man, all in their 70s. At least 70 others have been injured, including a 30-year-old woman in serious condition. Rescue teams report significant structural damage to buildings in Tel Aviv and Petah Tikva, a city in Israel’s Central District.
Israel’s air defenses have been working around the clock, with the IDF stating it has intercepted over 100 drones launched from Iran since the conflict erupted on Friday. Meanwhile, Israeli jets have continued retaliatory airstrikes, now focusing on missile launch sites deep inside central Iran.
The conflict was ignited Friday when Israel carried out a targeted airstrike on what it called the “heart of Iran’s nuclear program.” That strike killed several senior Iranian military officials and nuclear scientists. Though the United States has publicly confirmed it played no role in the Israeli operation, American officials are actively monitoring the situation.
Iran’s Ministry of Health now reports at least 224 people killed and over 1,200 injured in Israeli airstrikes. Iranian medical officials say hospitals are overwhelmed as the civilian toll rises.
Adding to the geopolitical tension, sources say the U.S. has communicated privately to Israeli leaders that President Trump opposes any plan to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. U.S. officials reportedly warned that such a move could trigger catastrophic escalation, noting that Iran has not attacked American targets directly.
Still, Israeli Ambassador to the U.S., Yechiel Leiter, stopped short of ruling out targeting Iran’s top leadership. In an interview Sunday, he told ABC News, “Nobody who threatens the destruction of Israel should be off the target list.”
Back in Israel, the IDF confirmed that several missiles from the most recent Iranian barrage made it past defense systems, causing impacts across the country. Search and rescue teams have been deployed to multiple sites, as emergency crews continue scouring wreckage in hopes of saving lives.
As the fighting intensifies, concerns are growing over how far this conflict could spread and whether other nations may be drawn into what is becoming one of the most volatile flashpoints in the region in recent memory.
We will continue to follow this developing story around the clock.
